The Children and Youth Committee

Childcare, and primary and lower secondary schools are the primary fields of responsibility of this committee. Furthermore, the committee is responsible for various counselling and advice functions concerning special needs of children and young people.

The childcare facilities cover day-care for children aged 0-3, kindergarten for children aged 3-6, and after school care at school for children attending 0.-3. class. 

In Denmark the compulsory education is nine years, and the education at the municipal schools is free of charge. Rebild Municipality offers pre-school classes for 6-year-old children, and primary and lower secondary education for 7-17-year-old children and young people.

The Children and Youth Committee is also responsible for leisure and sports clubs for children aged 10-13 and youth clubs for young people aged 13-18.
